SERVING
We are blessed to have Catholic Charities agencies across our archdiocese that serve thousands of individuals and families each year. Through agencies and programs located in Bloomington/Bedford, Indianapolis, New Albany, Tell City and Terre Haute, we reach those who are hungry, without shelter, and without access to Catholic education. We help women who need a safe place to flee from a domestic situation and those looking for an alternative to abortion. We provide coats in the winter, gifts at Christmas, and things mothers need for their newborn babies. And we offer affordable counseling and mental health services to all ages.
We also proudly support The Mother Theodore Catholic Academies, a consortium of three Archdiocesan center-city Indianapolis Catholic schools: Central Catholic, Holy Angels, and St. Philip Neri. These academies provide a rigorous Catholic education for their students, which serves as the foundation for a life lived in service to Jesus, the Church, and the community.

Why We Serve
The Catholic Church places great importance on providing service to the needy as it aligns with the core teachings and values of the faith. Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who consistently showed compassion and love for the marginalized, the Church sees service to the needy as an essential expression of Christian discipleship.

By reaching out to those in need, the Church aims to alleviate suffering, promote social justice, and foster a sense of solidarity among all members of society. It recognizes that each person, regardless of their circumstances, possesses inherent dignity and is deserving of respect and assistance. By engaging in acts of service, the Church seeks to embody the love and mercy of God, reflecting the transformative power of selfless giving and the hope for a more just and compassionate world.

Mother Theodore Catholic Academies (MTCA)
The Mother Theodore Catholic Academies (MTCA) is a consortium of three Archdiocesan center-city Indianapolis Catholic schools: Central Catholic, Holy Angels, and St. Philip Neri. These academies provide a rigorous Catholic education for their students, which serves as the foundation for a life lived in service to Jesus, the Church, and the community.

Named after Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, the academies offer a comprehensive curriculum from pre-kindergarten through high school, providing a nurturing environment where students can grow intellectually, morally, and socially. With a focus on Catholic values, the academies strive to instill a love for learning, compassion, and a sense of community in their students, preparing them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
